DC Special Police officers are required to complete a pre-assignment training course.
Pre-assignment training course is either 16 hours consisting of Arrest Powers, Search, Seizure laws, the DC Code and the Use of Force or 24 hours of Terrorism Awareness, Emergency Procedures, including Evacuation and First-aid and Customer Service.
